How To Remove Growl Notifications

If you’ve recently installed Dropbox, Adobe Creative Suite 5, ZumoCast or ZumoDrive and are getting mysterious Growl notifications, it’s because Growl is also installed along with those programs, sometimes without your knowledge or approval. This happens often enough that Growl even set up a page, Applications that install Growl without your permission that explains why it was installed on your machine. “Growl lets Mac OSX applications unintrusively tell you when things happen.” is what it does according to their website. That’s fine but we’re just tired of seeing the notifications located on the top right of our desktop that will stay there until you click on the message. Here’s the solution to removing the notifications.

1) Open up system preferences

2) Click ‘Growl’ on the bottom row of preferences under ‘Other’

3) In the Growl General settings, check ‘Hide all notifications’.

Growl notifications will not be shown anymore.
